The golden age of technology has revolutionized the lives of many people, including our children. The rising fame of computer-based gaming have transformed how children play their games. Young girls, who used to play with plastic kitchen toys to simulate real-life cooking, are starting to spark interest on online cooking games that have invaded the internet. Which of the two would better enhance the interest of a young girl to the world of cooking: Plastic kitchen toys or online cooking games?
When girls play plastic toys, they just use it haphazardly without any reality-based instructions. This fact leaves a question if she really is learning anything by herself. Unlike virtual games, real life instructions are being given to young kids for them to follow. They have a goal in these games like leveling their skill up or earning money. Whatever they are aiming for, this makes it fun for them.
Plastic toys contain small parts that can be very dangerous for your kid. Young kids who are not usually supervised might choke because of these toys. And unless your child can eat the keyboard, there is no choking hazard posed by playing online games.
Children are easily bored. One day they like dolls, next week they don’t anymore. And let’s face it, plastic toys are not really the most exciting game there is. Usually young girls perform role-play kitchen games, like Barbie cooking games, with their dolls or teddy bears as their customers and that’s about it. But in the world of online cooking, they have customers who are waiting to see what they whip up. And they are rewarded for the good job they did with the food. They would actually feel like a chef being commended by their customers. And there is an endless stream of recipes and situations that will never bore them. They could also choose if they want to be a chef that makes excellent dishes or a pastry chef that bakes cakes and desserts.
So if you are having second thoughts on what medium of teaching would be preferable, online cooking games are a better choice. Your child maybe the next famous chef, pastry chef and food critic in the future!

I love watching the kids cook in the show. They really look very cute with an apron on. I also amazed with there ability to cook since I don’t have talent like them looking at how they easily do things on the kitchen makes me envy them.

My daughter loves the online cooking games, and I think that those are just great. Apart from the times when she is given the tak to make guacamole for examle (as it happened the other day) and after she was ready with it, she asked me: “Mommy, what exactly is guacamole?” I had to laugh so bad.
